On Friday, Sept. 22, we inducted five new members into the Athletic Hall of Fame. We also welcomed the biggest group of Hall of Famers back to campus for this year’s ceremony in Rice Auditorium.
Juan Price, ’94, continued his impressive streak of traveling from southern California to the Hall of Fame ceremony annually since being inducted in 2017. Jim Dick, ’63, inducted in 2013, also makes it back from Nashville, Tennessee, each year.
This year, the Roepke brothers—Brad, ’83, and Terry, ’85—who are members of the Hall of Fame class of 2010, came back with their wives. “They joined us for the whole weekend from Waterville, Kansas. The Roepkes stayed in their beautiful RV and made a weekend out of it. They had such a good experience, they plan to attend Homecoming every year,” said Doug Barth, ’91, director of alumni relations.
Hall of Fame activities were a family affair for the Hannon family: 2023 inductee Aaron Hannon, ’11, joined his father, Philip Hannon, ’86, who was inducted in 2012, and his grandfather, Ted Potter, ’54, who was inducted in 2008. This is the first three-generation family in the Hall of Fame. The entire Hannon family was on hand for the ceremony.

On Saturday, Sept. 23, the skies cleared in time for the annual tailgate lunch outside Liston Stadium before the homecoming game.
“Our Homecoming Food Truck Tailgate was another successful day, and we served more than 400 members of the Baker community a free lunch,” Barth said. “We were fortunate that the weather cooperated and were able to host this event.”
At the game, the Wildcats overcame No. 25 Graceland in 45-42 thriller.
